The GS-777 is a Xuande-Xiphoian redesign of the Allanean-built Rocket Propelled Grenade Launcher model 1968. That weapon, also known as the RPG-68, was adopted for use in limited numbers by Xuande-Xiphoian forces, but found a niche as a counter-ambush, ambush, and counter-defilade weapon. Today, in a modernised form as the GS-777, the weapon continues to be an option for infantry weapons sections as they go into battle.
Ergonomics of the launcher have been significantly improved with the newly designed trigger group. Compared to the Allanean version, 2.3 kilograms of weight has been removed. The center of gravity, grip, sight, and shoulder resting positions have been moved forward to compensate for the muzzle heavy weight of a loaded rocket. This allows the operator to stay on target longer with less fatigue. Accuracy potential is enhanced with the incorporation of improved ergonomics and a lightweight single-stage trigger. A combat optic sight features allows for quick range estimation and target alignment, incrases accuracy, and can be replaced with a night scope for those operations. The weapon can be equipped with rocket grenades at 40mm calibre, with functions including:
The weapon is one of the simplest in the Xuande-Xiphoian arsenal, being easy to operate effectively by trained users, however it's use is generally limited for light patrol units where it can be easily used by a single operator; for mechanised units or similar, the crew-served XXXXXXXXX weapons system is utilised instead. |
